10 Must See Spots - Mendocino Coast

November 12, 2016 | MENDOCINO COAST, CALIFORNIA

Have you heard of the Glass Beach at Fort Bragg? That was originally my end destination but I thought might a well create a full itinerary around it to make of the long drive. I decided to take Highway 1 to take advantage of the  scenic drive even though it took me around 5 hours to get to Fort Bragg.

5 Day Trip Destinations - Death Valley National Park

November 3, 2016 | DEATH VALLEY, CALIFORNIA

November is a great month to visit the deserts of California. It's a crazy 4 hour drive California City. I took the Panamint Valley-Ballarat route for a more solitary - "scenic" route. I was anxious about running low on gas and getting stuck in the middle of the desert without any help. The fear was real!

Red Rock Canyon State Park

November 3, 2016 | CANTIL CALIFORNIA

Guess what! California has it's own Red Rock Canyon! It's around 81 miles east of Bakersfield and only a 25 minutes drive north of California City.  I found Red Rock Canyon State Park unintentionally while browsing online for alternative destinations for my 1 week road trip. It's a great spot to visit if you plan to continue your trip to either Sequoia NPS or Mt. Whitney.

Mt. Tamalpais State Park - Pan Toll Road & Ridgecrest Highway

October 31, 2016 | MARIN, CALIFORNIA

Only 1 hour drive north of San Francisco, Mt. Tamalpais is home to the Muir Woods National Monument, tons of trails, and scenic views. I opted for a more mellow roadtrip. I originally planned to hike to Cataract Falls but the road was closed.

Red Rock Canyon

November 24, 2016 | LAS VEGAS, NEVADA

The Red Rock Canyon Conservation Area lies 15 miles west of Las Vegas. It's a good 20-30 minute drive from the strip. It's part of the Mojave Desert which is considered to be the driest and hottest deserts in America. Strangely it was raining when we visited.

Zion National Park

November 23, 2016 | SPRINGDALE, UTAH

I had the same feeling driving through Springdale and the inside Zion when I first saw Yosemite valley. It's was an intense "Oh sh*t, this planet is really magnificent" feeling.
